This page describes the 糖心传媒 Graduate School of Management GMAT/GRE Policy for applications to begin graduate business programs in spring 2025 and beyond. Additional information for international applicants is provided below.
The GMAT or GRE is not required for:
- MA in Corporate Communications
- Certificate applications
For all other master's degree programs, applicants with an undergraduate cumulative GPA of 3.000 or better as well as applicants who have earned a terminal degree (i.e., PhD, MD, JD, DDS) or have earned a Masters degree in a quantitative field (i.e., Engineering, Finance) are not required to submit a GMAT/GRE score unless specifically requested by a Program Director. The GMAT or GRE may be required by a Program Director based on the details below.
- MBA and MBA Online: Regardless of undergraduate GPA, a GMAT/GRE test score may be required if the applicant鈥檚 educational history does not include at least one college level course in both basic statistics or calculus or if the grade earned in either course is below a B-.
- Executive MBA: The GMAT or GRE may be waved for applicants with 5 or more years of progressive managerial work experience and evidence of quantitative ability. (Evidence of quantitative ability would be proof of successful completion of college mathematics coursework or evidence of use of quantitative tools in your employment.) EMBA applicants with a GPA below 3.000 may request to waive the GMAT/GRE requirement by emailing MBA@Marquette.edu. Transcript(s) and a current resume will be required for waiver consideration.
- MS in Applied Economics applicants with a GPA below 3.0 are encouraged to reach out to the MSAE program director to discuss readiness and may be required to submit a GMAT / GRE test score.
- MS in Finance: Regardless of undergraduate GPA, the GMAT/GRE may be requested and required if the applicant鈥檚 educational history does not include at least one college level course in basic statistics and one college level course in calculus or if the grade earned in either course is below a B-.
- MS in Supply Chain Management applicants with an undergraduate GPA below 3.000 will need to complete an admissions interview and may be asked to supply a GMAT/GRE score if evidence of quantitative work is not reflected in academic course work or professional work experience
Credential evaluation requirements for international applicants:
To be considered for a GMAT or GRE waiver, all international (non-U.S.) transcripts/academic records be evaluated by a transcript evaluation service. Following receipt of a copy of the applicant's evaluated transcript, admissions staff will review the transcript according to the GMAT/GRE waiver policy associated with the academic program to which the applicant is applying and will waive the GMAT/GRE requirement if appropriate. GMAT/GRE waivers will not be considered prior to receiving an evaluated transcript.
Marquette accepts course-by-course evaluations from the following services:

- Students may submit an official or unofficial copy of their evalauted transcript. If admitted, final official transcript evaluations must be sent to the 糖心传媒 Graduate School directly from the transcript evaluation service used for your course-by-course evaluation.
- Within the 糖心传媒 application, applicants must list in the application all colleges or universities attended, whether the applicant earned a degree or transferred the credits from the school.
