What can I do about it?

SOCIAL NETWORKING

Posting information on social networking services like Facebook can potentially put you at risk of identity theft. Future employers may access information on your site.
Malicious code sometimes also targets Social Networking users.

What can I do about it?

  • Limit the amount and type of personal information you share.
  • Enable privacy settings.
  • To guard against malicious attempts to access your private information:
    • Use the security software built-in to your computer's operating system.
    • Do not follow unsolicited links.
    • Refer to the US-CERTfor more information on social engineering attack.
    • Visit the vendor’s website and use caution when downloading and updating applications.
    • Refer to the US-CERT for more information on safe use of social networking sites.
