Associate Professor

Physical Therapy

Dr. Pinto received a dual degree B.S. in Health Sciences and M.S. in Physical Therapy from Touro College (2002), completed orthopedic physical therapy residency training at the University of Wisconsin (2004), a transitional DPT (2007) and Fellowship training in Manual Physical Therapy at Regis University (2008). He completed a PhD in 2012 at the University of Otago, New Zealand with a focus in trial-based economic analysis. From 2014-2016, Dr. Pinto received K12 faculty development training using conjoint analysis (PI: Dave Cella, PhD, AHRQ).

In 2015, he received the European Society for the Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis (ESCEO) Fellowship Award. In 2016 Dr. Pinto was awarded a CoHSTAR faculty fellowship and trained in the conduct of Behavioral Clinical Trials at the NHLBI. In 2020 he received ESCEO-IOF (International Osteoporosis Foundation) Pierre Meunier Young Investigator Award.

Dr. Pinto is on the steering committee for the osteoarthritis action alliance (OAAA), he serves as co-Chair for the IOF Rehabilitation Working group, and is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for ESCEO and the Committee of Scientific Advisors for the IOF. Dr. Pinto鈥檚 research interest is in applying to rehabilitation the diverse methodological approaches that make up the Science of Judgement and Decision Making. He directs the BEhTA lab at 糖心传媒.
