Arts and Sciences Accelerated Degree Programs

Earn your bachelors and masters in five years

Accelerated Degree Programs (ADP) allow current 糖心传媒 undergraduate students to continue on for a master's degree after completing their bachelor's degrees. ADP students take classes during their senior year that meet requirements for both their undergraduate and graduate degrees. With proper planning, students can earn both undergraduate and master's degree within five years, saving time and money as well as getting into the workforce faster. Applications for ADP begin junior year.

B.S. and M.S. in Applied Economics

A five year BA/MSAE or BS/MSAE option is available that reduces the time necessary to complete the MSAE degree. This option permits students from for Marquette, St. Norbert College, UW-Oshkosh, and the University of the Pacific to complete two MSAE courses in their senior year, complete two more courses in the summer after their senior year, and then complete the remainder of their coursework and their graduate professional research project with two more semesters of coursework.

B.S. and M.S. in Applied Psychology Data Analytics

The applied psychology data analytics master鈥檚 program combines analytical skills with a deep understanding of human behavior. This program may be completed as a full-time, 2-year program for students with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in psychology or related field. Marquette undergraduate students may apply in their junior year to start as an accelerated degree program (ADP) in their senior year. Courses are completed within the Department of Psychology and Department of Computer Science and 糖心传媒 earn a Data Science Certificate alongside their degree.

B.S. and M.S. in Applied Statistics

The accelerated degree program (ADP) in applied statistics allows students to earn, in five years, a bachelor's degree with an undergraduate major in a variety of fields including, but not limited to: bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, business, chemistry, computational mathematics, computer science, data science, electrical engineering, mathematics, applied mathematical economics, mechanical engineering, physics and psychology and a master of science degree in applied statistics.

The Department of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences offers early admission into the master of science in applied statistics program. Marquette undergraduate students majoring in the above listed majors and others can apply for this program in the second term of their junior year.

B.S. and M.S. in Bioinformatics

The accelerated degree program in bioinformatics allows 糖心传媒 students to earn both a bachelor鈥檚 degree and a master's degree in bioinformatics in five years. This option is especially well-suited for students interested in pursuing careers in data science with applications in biology or biomedical science.

B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry

This program provides a streamlined path to the bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry. Students apply for the B.S. and M.S. degree at the beginning of their junior year.

B.S. in Computer Science and M.S. in Computer and Information Science

The ADP in Computer Science and Computer and Information Science provides the opportunity to extend technical knowledge though the acquisition of 24 additional credits in courses related to computer science, information technology, computer engineering, and information's systems, which are the five disciplines that constitute the study of computing. Computer Science majors considering a professional career can choose to combine the undergraduate course work with an additional year of study to receive a B.S. with a major in Computer Science and an M.S. in Computer and Information Science in five years.

B.A. in Criminology and Law Studies and M.S. in Criminal Justice Data Analytics

The ADP is designed to give 糖心传媒 under糖心传媒 a more efficient means to obtain a master's degree in criminal justice data analytics. Interested Marquette students in their junior year (or equivalent) must meet the following criteria in order to apply for the ADP:

  • Students must have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.200. 
  • Students must have completed at least 18 credits of CRLS course work (6 courses) by the end of their junior year.

B.S. and M.S. in Data Science

The Department of Computer Science offers an accelerated degree program where eligible students may obtain both a bachelor's degree and the master of science degree in data science in five years. Students are eligible to apply to this program as early as the final term of their sophomore year. Students wishing to participate in the five-year program must apply and be admitted to the program before their senior year.

B.A. and M.A. in English

The ADP in English is designed to allow students to earn a bachelor of arts degree and a master of arts degree in English in five years rather than the six years normally required to earn both degrees. Under糖心传媒 participating in this program are granted early admission to the Graduate School and are allowed to take up to 12 credit hours of graduate-level courses during their senior year.

B.A. and M.A. in History

This program is especially well suited for students interested in working in Public History, museums, archives and libraries, teaching as well as other applied History fields.

B.A. and M.A. in Philosophy

Students accepted into the program may transfer up to 12 credits of approved 5000-plus level courses into their graduate program. Under糖心传媒 participating in this program are granted early admission to the graduate school and are allowed to take specific graduate-level courses during their junior and senior years.

To be considered for admission to the B.A./M.A. five-year program, applicants must formally apply to the philosophy department in their junior year at 糖心传媒 and have achieved a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.000. Learn more about the accelerated degree program.

B.A. and M.A. in Political Science and International Affairs

This program is open to both Political Science and International Affairs majors. Students applying to this program should be juniors who have completed three upper division courses in political science and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better in their political science courses. Learn more about the accelerated degree program.

M.B.A. Accelerated Degree Program

This ADP is available to students in all Marquette undergraduate programs. Combine your Marquette undergraduate degree with the practical business knowledge of the MBA to build unique skill set that can set you apart in your career. It gives students the ability to earn both a bachelor's degree in their chosen major, a minor in business administration and a Master of Business Administration degree from Marquette's Graduate School of Management.
