Research Interests

Dr. Joshua-Paul Miles, Ph.D., conducts research that integrates network science with social service systems, grounded in an interdisciplinary approach that centers on communication. His work explores how organizations—including nonprofits, corporate entities, and government agencies—collaborate within networks to address complex societal challenges. By examining critical dimensions such as decision-making, information sharing, and resource allocation, Dr. Miles' research sheds light on the mechanisms that drive network effectiveness and resilience. His insights contribute both to advancing theoretical frameworks and developing practical strategies for improving networks' impact on communities. 

Dr. Miles is deeply committed to fostering community-driven solutions that generate meaningful social impact. Employing a mixed-methods approach that combines computational analyses with qualitative techniques, he explores how interorganizational networks are designed and how they adapt to emerging social and organizational challenges.
