Electronic Collections

Offering new methods of access and enhanced functionality, electronic resources are becoming more prolific in the Marquette Libraries and more in demand by our users. The Libraries acquires and provides access to a growing collection of online databases, e-books, e-journals, and other digitally-based materials to expand the options for accessing and using information.

E-resources may be acquired and accessed through several methods:

  • direct purchase of individual items selected by subject liaison librarians and/or recommended by faculty and students;
  • direct purchase of individual items selected by patrons from among pre-selected records in MARQCAT (demand-driven acquisition);
  • direct purchase of subject-focused or multidisciplinary collections;
  • subscriptions to individual titles;
  • subscriptions to subject-focused or multidisciplinary collections of resources.

Whatever the method of acquisition and access, the Libraries strive to be responsive to the needs of Marquette faculty, students and staff. Listings of , , and highlight some of the resources currently available.

As new databases and collections are considered for acquisition, are sometimes offered for a limited time; the Marquette community is invited to try out these potential new resources and submit their feedback for further consideration.

The Library also established some online collections of Marquette-related materials. is the institutional repository of published scholarly works of Marquette faculty and student research, including Marquette these and dissertations. is a collection of selected, digitized materials in the Archival Collections.
