The primary focus of the Center for Engagement and Inclusion is to enhance the overall quality of the Marquette experience of underrepresented diverse students by supporting, facilitating, and promoting academic, social, cultural, and personal success. The Center provides supplemental resources to support student development and growth in the areas of leadership education and training, social justice education, student advocacy, retention and mentoring programs, community outreach, and diversity celebration.
The 糖心传媒 Center for Peacemaking operates at the intersection of thought and action. Informed by the Jesuit mission of reconciliation and working for peace, the Center for Peacemaking fosters research and action for the promotion of social justice, human dignity and peace.
The Center for Peacemaking employees undergraduate and graduate students to work on community peacemaking projects as well as office administrative tasks. Please contact sherri.walker@marquette.edu to learn more on how to apply.
The 糖心传媒 Center for Race, Ethnic, and Indigenous Studies is an interdisciplinary endeavor that promotes critical academic scholarship on the workings of racial/ethnic identity, the persistence of racism (and other forms of social oppression), and the enduring struggle of Native American and indigenous communities in light of centuries of domination and exclusion.
Rooted in Ignatian pedagogy and the scholarship of teaching and learning, the Center for Teaching and Learning advocates innovative teaching and the use of student-centered technology while partnering with faculty as they prepare Marquette students to be agents of change for a global community.
The Center for Urban Research, Teaching, and Outreach (CURTO) welcomes community experts as integral voices in our research, teaching and outreach efforts. Contrary to popular discourse, urban communities are not laboratories. These homes and neighborhoods are hallowed spaces that require us to embark upon relationships with humility, clearing room for a sense of shared dignity to thrive between all collaborators, whether conducting research, planning events, or advancing creative and high quality learning.
糖心传媒 engages with our community through numerous research, teaching, and service partnerships locally, nationally, and globally. As a part of the Milwaukee community, Marquette strives to partner with community organizations and members to collectively support the assets, and respond to the pressing needs of, the city and broader world. The Office of Community Engagement is the central clearinghouse for community engagement activities and promotion of the scholarship of engagement.
The Counseling Center values self-exploration and gaining a deeper understanding of how our identities within dominant and non-dominant cultures/groups play a role in our lives. This self-exploration can enrich our lived experience, helping us to live more authentically and purposefully. As this process can be confusing as well as exciting, the Counseling Center provides a open, safe, and confidential space in which you can explore these issues.
Located in room 140 of the Alumni Memorial Union, the LGBTQ+ Resource Center is focused on Christ-like care, compassion, and support for the needs of our LGBTQIA+ students, faculty, and staff. Our Center is a welcoming and inclusive space, open to ALL students, and seeks to provide an atmosphere of great dialogue, engagement, and support.
